Vantage Market Research releases its latest comprehensive report on the ‘Dialysis Equipment Market’ with a forecast period of 2025-2034. In 2023, the global dialysis equipment market size was USD 19.70 billion, and is calculated at USD 20.94 billionin 2024. The market is calculated to reach USD 36.29 billion in 2034, and register a revenue CAGR of 6.3% over the forecast period (2025-2034).

Market Overview:

Global dialysis equipment sales has increased significantly in parallel with rising prevalence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). Demand for hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis systems and machines continue to register steady demand, with in-center hemodialysis and Home Hemodialysis (HHD) therapy ranking high in demand. Demand for home-based is expected to continue to incline over the forecast period due to ease of use, automated and smart operations and features, and overall convenience and autonomy in treatments.

Technological advancements and innovations in equipment and systems has also been resulting in rising appeal of new equipment across healthcare organizations. This includes wearable devices and portable dialysis equipment and machines, and automated systems that reduce the need for clinical supervision and emergence of biocompatible dialysis membranes that enhance patient treatment and comfort. Rising awareness regarding the benefits of early diagnosis and use of dialysis and treatment to slow down, manage, and delay progression of CKD is also contributing to incline in patient pool seeking treatment and opting for various devices and machines in the dialysis equipment market.

Rapidly aging population globally is also a key factor driving demand for renal care and dialysis treatments, and in turn supporting revenue growth of the dialysis equipment market. Other factors are supportive government initiatives and reimbursement policies related to treatment and use of dialysis equipment. Governments and private organizations are engaging in initiatives to enable easier access for patients to dialysis treatments, especially in developing economies with high prevalence of kidney diseases. Also, initiatives supporting and encouraging early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of various chronic diseases and health conditions are also serving to drive expansion of healthcare infrastructure and modernization of facilities and offerings, and also driving growth of the dialysis equipment market.

However, cost and affordability factors can impact decision to purchase or upgrade existing equipment in healthcare facilities and hospitals. Dialysis can also be costly for some patients, especially in developing economies, and the long-term need for treatment can further add to the burden. In addition, innovation is crucial and R&D in dialysis technology, but can be costly and time-consuming. Developing new, more efficient machines with enhanced safety features requires substantial investment, and regulatory approval processes can further delay product launches. These challenges may slow down the pace of technological advancements, and can have a negative impact

Moreover, availability of alternative treatments such as kidney transplant and regenerative medicine can have impact on market growth. Artificial kidneys and advancements in stem cell therapy are also potential factors expected to have a negative impact on growth of the dialysis equipment market in future.
